Fire in the Sky

For me the most Spirit-filled moments of the day are sunrise and sunset.    It is a time where darkness of night touches light of day, creating an astonishing occurrence where one can actually watch the heavens transform earth.  In those tranquil moments, tongues of fire fracture the horizon with fire in the sky.  It’s impossible to look away from it, to not be mesmerized by its splendor, and humbled by its majesty.

As we celebrate the feast of Pentecost, the birthday of the Church, it is my hope that we all cant create a small opening in our chaotic and cluttered lives to experience this transformation and be drenched in the fruits of the Holy Spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, trustfulness, gentleness and self control..

There is really no need to distinguish a sunrise from a sunset for one person will experience it as the beginning of day and somewhere else, another sees it as the beginning of night.  It is simply one continuous, never ending birth, death, resurrection, and life giving fruit of the Spirit touching everyone, every thing, at every moment of time.  Heaven transforming earth creating this fire in the sky.
