It was the night watch. Shepherds were performing their ordinary nightly duty. In the silence, they heard something that filled them with wonder. Some new energy was enfolding them, transforming them. They had no choice but to share their experience, allowing their own transformation to radiate into their world.

In stillness, in silence, we too listen. We too become attuned to an energy within and around us. We too sense something is changing as we are enfolded in grace.  Like the shepherds, we are transformed and our daily tasks become infused with the Divine.  We too become icons of Christ.

On that night long ago, Divine Presence was made manifest in human form. The Divine Presence continues to be made manifest in our own time as we consent to God’s presence and action in our everyday lives. Grace continues to be manifest in us; incarnation goes on …
